So the other day I’m looking around at my MANY paper crafting links and came across the Spellbinders blog and a post called Filigree Easter Egg. I was extremely impressed with the look of this card and wanted to give it a try myself. Of course I don’t have a lot of the supplies that they used, in fact the only Spellbinders item used was the largest of the petite oval dies.
To start this card, die cut your base with the oval die, but don’t cut the entire oval, leave part of the fold intact as shown in the image below.
If you are using a lightweight pattern paper like I did, you will need to cut an additional oval from the same type of cardstock you used for the base. Adhere the pattern paper to the oval and let your creativity go wild! As usual, my creativity came around midnight. lol
The paper used for the egg and the flowers was Pathways by Michelle Anderson for Provo Craft and the base and the edging are Georgia Pacific cardstock. The flowers were made with a Cuttlebug alphabet set and I’m sorry I don’t remember which one. The edging is the Martha Stewart arch lattice punch.
This cute little egg card can really be dolled up or even done more simply if desired. If you give it a try, let me know so I can take a look at it!
