Black Magic

This card was made with the Black Magic technique. I deviated from the main direction with this image by not using a chunky stamp. After stamping this beautiful image by Asela Hopkins, in white colorbox ink, I filled it in with white colored pencil. The color was then added with watercolor pencils. {After wondering why it had to be watercolor pencils, I did a little test, and found the water color pencils have a lot more pigment than the regular pencils, and that is needed to really show up on the dark cardstock.} To add the definition back into the image, I re-stamped the image over the top with the help of my stamp-a-ma-jig and heat set it.

Here is a close-up so you can really see the colors…

The image was cut out with Nestabilities labels 4 and matted with a piece of silver card stock which was also cut with labels 4. The silver layer was cut in half so I could spread it to the outer edges of the black image.
